PC Based Serial Bluetooth Interface and Analysis Applications

There are two separate applications necessary to connect, download and analyze BodyGuard data.

The first application is the Bluetooth connection layer. Since BodyGuard family members produce and transmit data every minute, during these beta tests the Bluetooth connection layer is separated from the analysis layer. The Bluetooth connection layer is called: AMI_PC_CLIENT.exe and is fully automated such that once launched, assuming the BodyGuard member is paired with the PC, it connects to the BodyGuard member “server” and via serial Bluetooth transfers a copy of the recorded “history” file resident on the SD card present in each BodyGuard member, to the “client” and into the file c:\Temp\BodyGuard\history.txt. To run the AMI_PC_CLIENT simply launch it and wait, there is a display window to watch the transfer in action. As soon as the transfer of the history.txt file is complete the client will self terminate. To close the application click the X in the upper right corner.

The second application is the AMI_History_File_Processing.exe and identical to the client, runs immediately at launch. The history processing application looks for the history.txt file at the location where the client creates it: c:\Temp\BodyGuard\history.txt. The application automatically parses the 112 columns of historical data and places the results in item specific arrays which are displayed on the upper left half of the window. In the center is a boxed area which controls the beginning and end range for the horizontal axis of the time graph in the upper right corner and where the “Intensity Graph Index Control” starts from. Each intensity graph is created for a unique single measurement time and displayed in the original sensor 8 x 8 pixel format. Along the bottom left half of the window are a series of calculated indices relating to the environment and general wellness. To terminate the application click the STOP button, to close it click the X in the upper right hand corner.
